About once a month on a Friday, something incredible happens at Esther Neonatal Kitten Alliance. People give $5.

It doesn’t sound like much, right? Five dollars — less than a fancy coffee or takeout snack.

But when dozens (or hundreds!) of people come together to give that same small amount, something magical happens: tiny, fragile kittens get a real chance to live.

We call it The $5 Friday Effect.

How It Works

On select Fridays, we invite our community to give just $5 to help the tiniest kittens — newborns and medically fragile babies who require around-the-clock care. These are the kittens most shelters can’t keep alive without specialized support.

When you join in, your $5 combines with others to create something powerful:

• $5 buys a couple cans of high-calorie food for a malnourished kitten

• $10 covers life-saving fluids for a dehydrated nursing mom

• $25 provides formula for a litter for an entire week

• $50 powers an incubator that keeps fragile bodies warm through the night.

When a few dozen people give $5 each, we can fund critical supplies for multiple kittens in crisis — every single week.

Why It Matters

Kittens under five weeks old are the most vulnerable animals entering shelters. Many arrive cold, hungry, or too weak to nurse. Each one needs specialized care, including bottle feeding every few hours, incubators, medications, and vet visits.

That care adds up fast. But so do small gifts.
