FOSTER ORIENTATION: Your 1st step to fostering with Esther Neonatal Kitten Alliance

About

Our Foster Orientation is the first step to becoming a foster with Esther Neonatal Kitten Alliance and is designed to set you up for success before kittens ever arrive in your home. This short, guided orientation walks you through how our foster program works, what makes ENKA different from many rescues, and what you can expect when you say “yes” to helping a kitten in need. You don’t need prior experience — most of our fosters started right here — just a willingness to learn and a heart for helping vulnerable kittens. During the orientation, you’ll learn: • The types of kittens and cats we place in foster homes • What ENKA provides and what we ask of our foster caregivers • How kittens move through our care, from intake to adoption • Basic expectations around communication, check-ins, and support • How we train and support fosters every step of the way, including hands-on training and 24/7 guidance when needed This orientation is intentionally approachable and informative — not overwhelming. Its purpose is to help you understand the commitment, feel confident asking questions, and decide what type of foster care might be the best fit for you and your home. After completing the orientation, you’ll be asked to submit your foster profile which will help us match you with the right animals for your home and lifestyle. Completion will also allow you to access additional foster trainings, which may be required for certain types of animals. Fostering saves lives, especially for the tiniest and most fragile kittens. This orientation is where that journey begins — with knowledge, support, and a team that has your back.
