About
Our Volunteer Orientation is the first step to getting involved with Esther Neonatal Kitten Alliance and making a meaningful difference for kittens in need. This orientation introduces you to who we are, how our programs operate, and the many ways volunteers help support lifesaving work behind the scenes and on the front lines of care. Whether you’re helping with animal care, cleaning and organizing, administrative support, events, or special projects, this session is designed to make sure you feel confident, informed, and prepared. During the orientation, you’ll learn: • Our mission, values, and why neonatal and medically fragile kittens require specialized care • How our facility functions day to day and how volunteers fit into that work • The different volunteer roles available and what each role supports • Expectations around safety, communication, scheduling, and accountability • How we train, support, and appreciate our volunteers This orientation is intentionally straightforward and welcoming. You don’t need prior rescue experience — just reliability, compassion, and a willingness to follow protocols that keep kittens safe. After completing the orientation, you’ll be asked to complete your volunteer profile so you can sign up for shifts that fit your availability and interests. Volunteers are a critical part of our lifesaving efforts. This orientation is where you’ll learn how to plug in, feel supported, and start making an impact right away.
