3 Ways Our Nursery & Resource Center Will Save Lives

We are opening a Neonatal Kitten Nursery and Resource Center in our hometown of Asheville, and are so excited to share all of the ways our new facility will help save the lives

of the tiniest and most vulnerable orphaned newborn kittens!

Not only is this the next logical step in our lifesaving work, but it’s a resource the kittens and rescuers in our community (and beyond!) desperately need. Here are 3 big ways our new Neonatal Kitten Nursery and Resource Center will help save more lives:

1. Our nursery will provide 24/7 care to the youngest and sickest kittens. In addition to our team of highly skilled and experienced caretakers, our nursery is outfitted with the equipment and tools we need to save the most challenging kittens, including incubators, an oxygen concentrator, nebulizers, feeding tubes, and medications.

2. The nursery will provide a location to provide hands-on training that will help our fosters learn new skills like tube feeding, administering subcutaneous fluids, or giving enemas. Teaching our foster parents new skills and allowing them to practice in a safe and supportive environment will give them the confidence they need to care for more challenging kittens, ultimately helping to save more lives.

3. Our education room will provide a place for foster parents, rescuers, veterinarians, and other animal lovers to learn the ins and outs of caring for orphaned newborn kittens. This room will also allow us to host guest speakers, movie nights, and other educational opportunities!

A new era is coming for the tiniest and most vulnerable kittens, and we're honored to be doing our part to build big, bright futures for the ones in our region. Click here to learn more about our new Neonatal Kitten Nursery and Resource Center, and we can't wait to see you in the spring!
